Cousins and farm kids for life
Our farm life is going through a major transition. One of the sons in Bathurst & Sons is making a change. Estol and his wife, Kristen, are moving to Eastern Africa to serve in long-term missions. We’ve been blessed to work together with them and watch all our kids grow and work together. Yet, we also see their excitement for the new place they are to fill in Africa. God is faithful. We’ll each get through these changes with His leading. We pray for them as they face language learning and settling in a new culture. We are thankful for technology that will allow us to keep in touch!
And there’s more.
I’m headed back to work outside of our home. Beginning this fall, I will be the Journalism Teacher at Abilene High School. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in Journalism & Mass Communications. Time to put it back to work. This means I will hang up my homeschool teacher hat after 12 years. Instead the kids will all attend public schools and I will begin teaching and working toward a masters degree in Career & Technical Education through Pittsburg State University. We’re all excited about the opportunities ahead for various reasons. But I admit I will miss my full-time farm wife life. There’s always summer, right?
